Congratulations to Jessica Hamilton, who has been awarded a 2017 Mineralogy/Petrology Grant from the Mineralogical Society of America! This is an internationally competitive grant that will support Jess’ Ph.D. research on accelerating CO2 capture from the atmosphere into the mineral waste produced by mines. Alastair Tait’s paper on impact-induced pressure gradients in the Allende CV3 parent body has just been published in Earth and Planetary Science Letters.
