Verônica Marcon Rosa

Verônica Rosa is a student at the Environmental Economic Geology Laboratory (EEGL/UAlberta). She joined the EEGL in September 2023 for her masters with a research project focused on carbon sequestration through the carbonation of unconventional minerals in mine tailings. She is continuing her research journey with a PhD, where she is studying the geochemistry and geomicrobiology of minerals in microbial mats. Her research interests are geomicrobiology, geochemistry and mineralogy. Verônica also has professional experience working as the XRD laboratory assistant in the EAS department for over a year. Before moving to Edmonton, she obtained her BSc of Geology degree at Universidade Federal do Paraná, in Brazil. In her free time, Verônica enjoys cycling and playing video games.
